We tried to keep our pricing structure as simple as possible.

Onboarding Fee

If you use a website management tool like ManageWP, BlogVault, WPRemote, etc. where you can delegate access to us, the onboarding fee is a flat $250. You’ll grant us access to your account and we’ll confirm we have access to all of the sites within your account (actually clicking through each site to be sure we’re able to login).

Otherwise, the fee is $10 per website we need to onboard with a minimum onboarding fee of $250. As an example, if you have 30 sites without a management tool, the onboarding fee will be $300. For each additional site added at a later date, each new site will have an onboarding fee of $10 as well. But, honestly, we highly recommend getting setup with a website management tool, ManageWP even has a free version.

Daily Fee

When you want us to cover your clients for you, it is $65 per day. This includes a total of up to 30 minutes per day (not per website) helping your clients with anything that comes in while you are gone. Any time not used in a given day, will not roll over to the next day.

Additional or Overage Time Fee

Any support time that exceeds the included 30 minutes in a single day will be tracked and billable to you at an hourly rate of $95 per hour once you return.

NOTE: All pricing is USD.

Anything you’d like us to support.

For maintenance and support clients, we need access to each website you’d like us to provide support to while you’re away. The easiest way is to delegate us access to your ManageWP, BlogVault, WPRemote, etc. account. From there, we should be able to login to any of your websites.

For hosting, we need access to each of the servers that you’d like us to support while you’re off relaxing. Again, most providers such as Cloudways, GridPane, WP Engine, Kinsta, etc. will allow you to delegate access to us.

The more we have access to, the better chance we’ll be able to help your clients when needed.

Our current hours of support are Monday – Friday, 9am to 5pm Pacific Time.

We don’t currently cover extended hours or weekends. If you’re interested in coverage for either, please let us know. If we have enough interest, we’ll likely start offering it in the near future.

At this time, we only provide coverage Monday through Friday.

If you’re interested in weekend coverage, please let us know. If we have enough interest, we’ll likely start offering it in the near future.

At this time, we only provide coverage Monday through Friday and are currently limited to covering ten (10) freelancers on any single day.

For busy times of the year, we highly recommend booking your time off early.

During business hours, we aim to respond within two (2) hours of receiving a request. However, there may be situations that could cause a delay in our response time to your client.

We guarantee a response to any request received within one (1) business day.

All communication will be by email, either using our email address (easy and quick) or yours (needs additional setup and requires a dedicated support address).

Anytime a new email comes through, we’ll respond letting your client know we’ve received their issue or request and provide an ETA on resolution.

That will be up to you. The intent of our service is to make sure everything is stable while you take time off.

If you want us to provide content updates or other support related tasks, we can. Included with your daily fee is 30 minutes of support per day (not per site) for all your covered sites. Any time exceeding 30 minutes in a given day will be billable to you at $95 per hour and be invoiced upon your return. See “How does pricing work?” above for more details on pricing.

Our goal will be to keep you completely unplugged during your scheduled time off.

However, you can give us direction on how to handle certain situations.

For example, if we get stuck and are unable to fix an issue for a client, the likely two options will be: 1) We reach out to you for guidance or 2) We let your client know that you’ll need to take care of it when you return.

Another example, if you manage servers with GridPane and one of them becomes unstable or unavailable. We can spin up a new server and migrate all sites on the old server to the new one or send you a bat signal to get involved.

Not at this time, but, please let us know what platform you’d like us to support. If we have enough interest in a given platform, we’ll likely start offering support for it.

This is one of the biggest concerns we hear and it’s not something we take lightly.

Besides strict ethical guidelines in place, we prioritize your well-being and success. After all, our success is directly linked to your success, so we have no incentive to poach your clients. Agency Godparent is designed to complement your business and enhance your competitive edge in the eyes of your clients.

If you have specific concerns or require additional safeguards, we are open to discussing customized agreements that align with your needs and comfort level.

Justin Korn
Owner & Lead Godparent

Hi! I’m Justin Korn, your trusted Agency Godparent rooted in Oakland, CA.

Like you, I’ve been a solo agency owner since 2007. I started my first company providing development services, crafting custom plugins, and integrating complex APIs for WordPress.

Around 2010, my focus shifted towards offering WordPress maintenance and managed hosting for our clients and partners. Over the years, I’ve gotten my hands dirty with a variety of hosting providers, including Kinsta, WPEngine, Cloudways, Siteground, BlueHost, GoDaddy, HostGator, and various hosting panels such as GridPane, RunCloud, cPanel, Plesk, and others. I’m also well-versed with WordPress management tools such as ManageWP, MainWP, InfiniteWP, BlogVault, and others. In short, I’ve been around the block, mostly by myself.

Agency Godparent was born from an idea that spawned while browsing through The Admin Bar’s (TAB) Facebook group in 2022.

As a solo entrepreneur myself, providing ongoing WordPress website maintenance and hosting to clients, I related to several questions and post around:

1) What would happen to my business in a “hit by a bus” scenario?

2) The thought of how to take a REAL vacation — one where I’m not still always connected and able to fully enjoy my time off.

After some helpful pushing (borderline nagging) from Kyle (TAB founder), Agency Godparent is finally here.

The initial goal is to make sure other WordPress designers and developers who work independently providing ongoing support, maintenance, and hosting have the chance to unplug and take a vacation or the ability to take some personal time off when needed.

As a bonus, I believe those that use this service will realize other benefits for themselves and their business. Each individual will get a chance to focus on themselves, their families, or other personal priorities and come back to their businesses and clients fully recharged and focused.
